Okay, so I am back with My second bath time activity. Before I begin explaining this adorable bath time theme, let me make it clear that this is all totally inspired by Crystal Underwood at growingajeweledrose.com ! She has the BEST play recipes and everything... so, some of my ideas are inspired by her. Here we go!
To make this the best ice cream parlor themed bath ever, you will need:
- vanilla extract (it makes the bathwater smell like ice cream... yum!)
- red or pink food coloring (it makes the water, again, seem more like ice cream)
- large (won't go down drain) foam cut outs of ice cream, toppings, and cones (they stick to the bathroom walls when wet! I love using foam cut outs in kid's baths.) You may also want to make sprinkle cuts for the water(:
- Plastic bowls/spoons
- Ice cream dough (see recipe later in this post)
So, just put a few drops of the food coloring (A LITTLE for red, so it looks pink) in the bathwater, along with a bit of vanilla, enough to make the bathroom smell yummy! get the foam cuts damp and stick the to the walls, letting the kids build their own ice cream cones! Add the sprinkles to the water.
Ice Cream Dough Recipe
All you need to do to make Ice Cream Dough is mix shaving cream with a bit of food coloring and scent in a bowl and freeze. After a few hours you can pull your dough out and play! If you use scented shaving cream you do not need to add scents, but you can if you want. I used the plastic bowls and spoons if they wanted to serve the ice cream(;
There are tons of ways to play with the ice cream dough. It is icy cold and feels EXACTLY like ice cream, so I decided to set up the themed bath. You could do a lot of other stuff with it, like brining sprinkles into the bath as well (sugar crystal sprinkles) as the plastic bowls and spoons.
CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR THIS POST UPDATED WITH PICTURES!
thanks(:
*Please note that you should awlways ask the parents of the kids you are babysitting if doing projects like this is alright with them, first. Do not make big messes, and clean up everything when finished.
